In late 2023, Anthony O’ Gorman Engineering Ltd, working with Astrum Consulting, undertook a comprehensive survey to identify how we were positioned regarding Carbon and Sustainability.

Arising from this process, we identified verifiable actions. 

These actions are phased short term, medium term and long term are designed to reduce our carbon use by 50% by 2030 and to be Net Zero carbon by 2034.

The Murintown Project

Our Commitment to Sustainable Development

In 2021 Anthony O’ Gorman Engineering purchased a poorly managed approx. 20 acre forestry in Murrintown, Co. Wexford. The original plan was to secure the site and apply for permits and licenses to undertake necessary thinning and felling to allow near – mature Sitka Spruce to be harvested by 2028 and to aim to improve drainage and soil condition.

Phase 1

Apply for all permits licenses for forestry improvement and planting of over 20, 000 Sitka and Native Irish trees – this was successful and all permits are now secured

Medium Term

75,000 tons of soil will have been imported...
